[076] Lion House - London - 2020

refurbishment, completed

The brief called for change of layout and full refurbishment of this four level terraced Victorian house within the tree-lined Peterborough Estate, known as the 'Lion Houses' of Fulham. Challenges included bringing the natural light into lower ground floor areas, creating an open feel in the ground floor lounge and making better connection with the back garden. This was resolved with the introduction of interior and exterior 'walk-on glass' elements, as well as opening formal lounge to the lobby. In addition, the internal patio received glass doors on both sides thus creating openness and enabling cross ventilation from front to back gardens on the ground floor. Modern furnishings and light colour scheme in the basement areas lightens the space even further, while formal lounge on the ground floor receives more complex heritage colouring scheme along with classic design furnishings.
