The brief included designing a three storey side extension and partial refurbishment of conservation area dwelling, originally built as a large detached property but divided into three flats since. Double gables to the roof at the front façade were to be restored to it’s previous look, prior to 1960’s alterations that combined them. Apart from adding additional functions to the flats, side extension houses the new 6 person passenger lift and stairwell to serve upper floors. Technically challenging project involved extension of exiting roof of complex forms and integration and coordination of new structure within new architectural spaces. RIBA stages 3-5 were executed.
